The Joint Crisis Committee (JCC) is a fast paced Model United Nation format where two or more opposing rival factions oppose through a developing crisis. Each faction represents different countries, organizations, or groups, and the delegates are major policymakers. JCC consists of key elements such as crisis management, strategy, negotiation, and quick decision-making, wherein participants are expected to respond right on time with developments in the unfolding situation. The structure itself invites a subtle interplay between cooperation within factions and competition against opponents. The delegates have to work out the political, military, and diplomatic issues with the ultimate aim of reaching their faction's goals. This dynamic setting fosters creativity and gives the experience an extra edge. In this committee framework, the delegates not only affect the outcome of the crisis but also develop in leadership under pressure, effective negotiation, and adaptability to unforeseen circumstances that go on to shape historical events or create an entirely new trajectory.
